MALU
The MALU ( Aboriginal word for ‘ storm ‘ ) represents the current vertex of our stick design & build capabilities.
It is aimed squarely at the difference maker, the player with fast hands and big ideas.
Fashioned from our stiff A.F. 24K braided carbon sleeve and Japanese spread tow carbon underpinnings in a 95:5% layup formula, the MALU is built for speed:
carrying
passing
shooting
creating
Unlike mainstream 3K and 4K carbon fibre sticks, which use narrower, more tightly woven tows that can create heavier resin loading and less uniform energy return, our 18K and 24K spread‑tow carbon lay‑ups maximize surface area while minimising voids in the laminate. The broader, flatter fibres distribute impact forces more evenly across the shaft, improving torsional stability, reducing micro‑cracking under repeated stress, and delivering a cleaner, more instantaneous energy release through the ball. This architecture also allows higher strength‑to‑weight ratios, so players experience exceptional stiffness and responsiveness without excess mass, translating into faster swing speeds, sharper ball control, and a stick profile that stays true deep into its lifecycle. In durability testing, higher‑K spread‑tow fabrics have shown greater resistance to delamination and fibre fracture under cyclic loading than conventional 3K/4K weaves, extending usable performance life (Stanley Sports, 2024).
It is featherweight at pick up and savage with delivery. It’s head shape and balance point enable excellent 3D skill execution and directional change. EVA sleeved with PU overgrip on our octagonal handle delivers fidelity of grip and improved vibration dampening.

FIH regulations and the current state of composite and component ( grip-end cap-external fascia) technology makes true innovation difficult to wrangle as we work toward giving players a discernible edge and product durability without sacrificing look and feel. The MALU is the first of our 2nd generation VOITTO range, folding into its design and manufacture hard won lessons from the turf. It leverages incremental tweaks to composition and functional design in delivering a stick that excels at ball carrying, elimination, 3D and finishing.
